It's a new day.  A beautiful day. Full of promise. Spring is full of new beginnings. I am of the impression that it takes a certain amount of pain and suffering in each to teach each of us that life is not just about us... we each must endure certain amounts of suffering to really grow and appreciate what we have... and cope with what we don't have.
